Companionship care is designed to provide comfort, social exchange, and a sense of belonging for individuals who for a variety of reasons may feel isolated. This level of care is suitable for children, young people and for the elderly, or anyone who is simply in need of a friendly smile and face to face interaction. For clients of all ages recovering from illness or following an accident so restricted in their mobility, or those living alone especially after bereavement, the companionship carers Manchester clients have available offer a welcome lifeline.

A companionship service that answers so many requirements

Clients look forward to hearing that cheery voice as their Greater Manchester companionship carer arrives, these regular visits bring emotional support on a day when perhaps the client is feeling a little cut off from the world that they previously were an active part of. The support and confidence of companionship care assistance helps them to re-join the community with their carer as physical and emotional support. As a non-clinical service, these compassionate and encouraging carers tailor their visits towards fostering human connection, and frequently over time they become regarded as trusted friends. With their easy conversation and readiness to talkor to listen, regular chats find it help srelieve loneliness and to share memories and feelings.

Companionship for children helps the whole family

With younger clients such as children with a long term illness or recovering after an accident, the companionship offered is appropriate to the child’s age and interests. It may include reading stories, playing with toys together, playing online games, or watching films. Getting outside when appropriate is also important, so trips to the park, or local events that can be enjoyed together as spectators. Child companion care helps the whole family to keep a balance on their lives as a whole, freeing them up to look after other family members while the carer concentrateson bringing some fun and diversions to her client. By engaging a companionship professional, family members can focus on spending quality time with their loved ones without the stress of being sole carers.

Companionship care bringing all ages the benefits they need

Whilst younger clients can be streets ahead with technology, with older clients the carer may be able to help with using their smartphones, using facetime with distant relatives will help keep everyone in touch when visits are not always possible. With flexible plans for the frequency of home visits, the companionship carer is there to help with doctor’s and hospital appointments, or simply to help prepare a meal and sit down to share it together. Having a companionship carer may be like having a new friend and this compassionate companion, by their presence alone can alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression, making each visit an uplifting experience.  A compassionate companion can provide emotional support and uplift the client’s spirits through meaningful conversations and their presence can bringhappiness and a sense of well-being as well as increased independence.

Providing the bridge between the client and the community

Not all care companies offer companionship care for children, but at Homecare Services we are proud to be able to help in this important area. With carers who have expressed a particular interest in child care, Manchester clients can engage the services of such carers who have looked to specialise in this sector. They have recognised in themselves the feeling that they have those qualities which will enable them best to interact with children when they are ill or recovering from an accident. Forming a bond with such children which will help their parents or guardians to care for them during what can be a stressful period of time for all concerned. This is a quality home care service that our specialist carers can bring to any child.

Professional childcare helps the whole family

Always working under the guidance of the parents, the medical team and social workers if they are involved, our child care staff understand their role in any home environment is unique to those particular circumstances. They will support the parents who may at the same time be trying to hold down a full time or part time job, and indeed care for the rest of the family. By having the supplementary help of a children’s carer, they can be freed up for regular periods, enabling them to complete either their professional or domestic tasks. The carer can then give companionship care for the child focusing on being a friendly companion, playing games with them, reading stories and keeping them from being bored and homework of course. They primarily have a social role, but their support for the child by their regular presence helps them to feel secure, less lonely and more positive during their incapacity. If required medications can be given, trips out in the neighbourhood to the shops, or a walk to the park if applicable.

Help with domestic tasks and a trusted companion

Whilst they can help with domestic needs such as feeding, most essentially, the care and attention that they bring goes far beyond the basic tasks, because the aim of members of the child care Manchester team is to build a genuine connection with their patient. They are there to offer a listening ear, engage in shared activities according to age and ability, all towards building a sense of trust with the child and within the household.

A smiling face at hand

Whether the child is a long-term patient or is suffering a temporary setback and is looking forward to getting back to school in the near future, being ill or following injury children often become frustrated and one of Homecare Services children’s companionship carersis able to offer emotional support for those “down days” with a smile and friendship.  When the child experiences loneliness, anxiety, or stress, this type of companionship care for children can bring a safe and supportive person to turn to for them to express their feelings. Where individual circumstances permit, and especially in the case of those with a temporary incapacity, the companionship care Manchester clients can benefit from can be key in maintaining the usual interaction with their peers. Continuing to develop their social skills, perhaps watching their friends’ local Saturday football match at the local recreation area, albeit from the sidelines. Where longer term, or permanent conditions are limiting such activities, all the companionship care offered is tailored to individual needs. Quite simply a very well-run company. Their caring staff have always gone the extra mile in looking after my Mum and Dad, helping them stay together in their own home. Before my Mum died, they made her as comfortable and happy as possible and supported my Dad after her death, but despite everything he followed Mum in a couple of months; he just didn’t know how to live without her. The continuity of the carers that visited both of them and then only him, helped a great deal. They showed such care and attention. I definitely made the right decision in choosing these home care services. Manchester is lucky to have them to call on in times like this.

We have used Homecare Services for the past six months and never had any issues, always turning up, helpful carers and the management are good . They initially gave my mother the personal care and friendship she needed in the early stages of her dementia, and throughout the whole time the service has been used they have kept us updated on the signs of progression that they are seeing in her illness. I imagine that as time goes by we shall be looking to them for the more specialist dementia care that she may need. They have proved their worth in every way to my mum and our family.

When my dad needed more personal care in the home six months ago as he was no longer safe to be showering without help, and even dressing on bad days was also difficult, he was determined to stay at home and not go into care in a residential home. Being a very private person, he found it difficult to accept this kind of help, even from the family. I had a hard job to persuade him and then to find a care company I felt I could trust. I was recommended Homecare Services and thankfully, they have been the right answer for us. Their compassion and consideration showed no bounds, he soon became used to his regular carers and they helped in so many ways in the house, also fetching prescriptions etc. Such care shown to my dad went above and beyond the call of duty. There was a real bond. He never wanted to be in a care home, and these carers were with him when he suddenly died of a fatal heart attack. I am so grateful that he was not alone. Thank you to everyone especially his primary carer!

Using this care agency was so easy, they were efficient and very pleasant to deal. We required live-in homecare with almost immediate effect to allow hospital discharge to happen for my mother. They understood the need for immediate assistance so clearly and found a carer who started the following day, living in and backed up by the care plan arranged by the hospital. They worked with the other agencies involved, professionally delivering on an easy transfer home and two weeks of live-in care. We were very impressed with the whole service.

My wife and I cannot thank the manager and her dedicated team enough. My father was on palliative care, and during those last 3 weeks the care and empathy shown to him by the team was second to none. They truly cared for him. End-of-life care is draining on everyone and they must be very special people to be able to do this with such love and empathy. They made this distressing time a little easier to bear. We will always be grateful to everyone at Homecare Services for taking such good care of my dad and enabling him to spend his final days at home. Thank you all.

I had previously had doubts about carers, so I was a little apprehensive about looking for companionship care for my mother who is now housebound. However, Homecare Services in Manchester have proved to be a godsend, not only giving me back trust in this sector (there are worrying stories out there)and giving me my own life back, but my mother looks forward to their visits. I found the manager helpful and supportive, answering any questions and concerns. The two carers that visit Mum are such hardworking and considerate people. Everyone in the family felt comfortable with all the arrangements from the start. Thank you
